Gentle and Effective Cleanser Dec 21, 2009
By Erin M. Ellingwood
"Indulgent"
In my teen years I was plagued by really bad acne. Now that I'm 24, I no longer have actual clinical "acne", which is a relief. However, my skin is still very prone to periodic breakouts, which is why I'm constantly looking for a good skincare line. Yet most of the anti-breakout products I find in CVS are way too harsh for my skin--the levels of salicylic acid are much too high for my skin. If you're a teenager or a woman older than 35, CVS is the perfect place to find good skincare products at great prices. But if you're in your 20s and early 30s, there is no product that is really well-balanced for your mature-but-not-too-mature skin.
I started looking at Dermalogica at first because they are Leaping Bunny certified [...]. This means that they absolutely do not test on animals and are cruelty-free, which is something Clinique and other high-end skincare lines can't say. After a bit of research, I decided to take the plunge and plunk down the money for the Clearing Skin Wash, Gentle Cream Exfoliant, and Oil Control Lotion. And I'm so thankful I did! My skin is noticeably healthier and shine-free, and I haven't had a breakout since I started using these products. I still get the occasional pimple around my period, but nothing like the breakouts I was getting before.
Before you buy any Dermalogica product, I highly recommend visiting their website [...]. They have an interactive tool that helps you determine which products are best for your skin, which is how I decided on the three products I purchased. You can also check to see if your salon/spa sells Dermalogica, but be prepared to pay a lot more than what you'll find here on Amazon.

Best face wash! Jan 13, 2009

When I first used this wash I was amazed how my skin felt...like velvet! It makes my skin feel so soft, and dries out my acne. You have to buy this stuff, and only a small dab will wash your entire face, so it should last you a good year. Def recommend it!

I had used Murad with AWFUL results. My skin was dry and broken out everywhere. The skin clearing wash relieved some of the dryness and started to clear up the break outs after one use. I could see a difference overnight. I have just become one more loyal customer!

I'll swear by this facial wash! Apr 07, 2008
By Elaine Poh I have a oily/combi skin. My face has always suffered from occasional breakouts due to clogged pores. After I had started using this, my face has cleared up a lot. Will highly recommend this!

By SLKH78 I've had acne pretty much all my life, I'm 29 now. I've tried everything - EVERYTHING- to clear my skin, but nothing has ever really worked. My esthetician recommended the body wash and I liked it and Proactiv wasn't working for me, so I decided to give the clearing wash a try. I bought the trial size, mainly because I'm a grad student so money is tight, and I wanted to try it out before I committed to spending $20-30. I love it, and I am never using anything ever again. Ever. For the following reasons:
1) A little goes a loooooooooooooonggggggg way. Like I said, I bought the trial size, and that was in January. It is now April, and I've used it pretty much every day, and I STILL have less than a quarter of a bottle left. A very small amount, a little less than the size of a dime, produces a big lather! It won't seem like it at first, but once it hits your face, there are suds everywhere. Its actually pretty surprising how much a little amount can do. Sometimes I exfoliate before I use the clearing wash, and when I do I need even less (pea-sized). If any of you are worried about the cost, know that volume-wise, you're definitely getting your money's worth.
2) Squeaky Clean! It washes off well and leaves my skin with a very clean feeling. It doesn't dry it out, and its very gentle so there's no irritation. I've never had such a great feeling after washing my face before.
3) Clear Skin. It does what it says it will. After using the product for four months, my skin looks much much better, and my breakouts have been greatly reduced.
4) The scent. Very lightly scented and it smells wonderful.
So, to sum it all up, this product is awesome. I recommend it to anyone who is fighting adult acne, or who has been fighting this battle their whole lives....
